MESA, Arizona — Body camera video shows Mesa police officers forcing their way into a smoke-filled home after a fire spread from a fully engulfed vehicle to an RV, nearby brush and parts of the house, according to Arizona’s Family/AZFamily.

The station reported that officers responded Wednesday night to a house fire near Baseline Road and 78th Street. The published bodycam video is dated June 17, 2026.

Officers forced entry as smoke filled the home

According to Arizona’s Family, officers arrived to find a vehicle fully engulfed in flames as the fire spread. The video shows officers forcing their way inside the smoke-filled home to help rescue an adult woman.

Police told the station that a man later went back inside the home and resisted before officers were able to get him out safely.

Officers treated for smoke inhalation

Arizona’s Family reported that several officers were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after the rescue. The station said no residents or firefighters were seriously injured.

The report reviewed by ThinBlueNews did not name the officers or the residents. This article therefore avoids adding names, injury details or cause-of-fire claims that were not included in the source report.

Why it matters

For Support Law Enforcement readers, the Mesa video is another reminder that patrol officers can become part of the lifesaving chain before a scene is stable. Firefighters, medics and dispatchers remain essential, but the first public-safety professionals on scene often have to act while smoke, fire and uncertainty are still unfolding.
