GLENDALE, Arizona — Glendale police officers entered a smoke-filled home, removed a barely conscious 2-year-old from a car seat and searched the residence after an emergency call late Saturday, according to newly released body-camera footage and local reporting.

Officer immediately moves the child outside
Arizona's Family reported Aug. 4 that officers responded at about 11 p.m. Saturday after the children's father arrived and called police. The station said the 2-year-old was strapped into a car seat while smoke filled the home and an adult was unconscious nearby.
The released footage shows two officers entering. One sees the child and says, “Let's get the kid out,” before bending over the car seat and moving the toddler toward the door. The other officer continues searching the residence.
Arizona's Family described the child as barely conscious. The station reported that the toddler and the adult were taken to a hospital for evaluation. No updated medical condition was included in the public report, and ThinBlueNews is not adding medical conclusions beyond the cited account.
Officers clear the home and remove the adult
The video then shows officers trying to wake and move the adult before dragging her outside by the arms. They continue checking rooms and report that no one else is inside.
A 7-year-old child was also at the home but was not hurt, according to Arizona's Family. FOX 10 Phoenix reported, citing court records, that smoke was coming from a burned pizza in a microwave.
The adult was later booked on a child-abuse charge, the stations reported. That charge is an allegation, and guilt must be established in court. ThinBlueNews is withholding the children's names and is not republishing unnecessary identifying details about the home.

The footage provides a direct record of the officers' first priorities: reach the vulnerable child, move the toddler out of the smoke, search every room and get the remaining adult outside. The names of the responding officers were not included in the two reports reviewed for this article.
