EMPORIA, Kansas — Emporia police and animal control officers removed 41 animals from reported unsanitary and unhealthy conditions during a search Wednesday, according to a local report based on a department media release.
The Hays Post reported Sept. 3 that officers executed a search warrant Sept. 2 at a residence in Emporia as part of an investigation into suspected animal abuse and neglect.
31 dogs and 10 cats removed
Police and animal control officers discovered 31 dogs and 10 cats at the residence and moved all 41 animals out of the conditions, the report said.
