ThinBlueNews remembers Constable Tarun Bali of the Ontario Provincial Police, whose End of Watch was Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique publicly confirmed that Constable Bali was killed in the line of duty in Hearst, Ontario, and said his courage and commitment to serving others would not be forgotten.
CBC News reported that Constable Bali was assigned to the Dufferin detachment, had about two and a half years of service with the OPP, and was working in northern Ontario when he was struck by a vehicle during an attempted apprehension near Hearst.
The Town of New Tecumseth also marked the line-of-duty death, lowering flags and identifying Constable Bali as a member of the James Bay Detachment who died while assisting with an investigation in the Hearst area.
This remembrance is offered with respect for Constable Bali’s family, friends, OPP colleagues, and the Ontario law-enforcement community carrying his memory forward.
Constable Bali’s End of Watch is a solemn reminder that behind every emergency response is a family, a department, and a community changed forever.
