ThinBlueNews remembers Sergeant Jeremy Robert Brown of the Clark County Sheriff's Office in Washington on the fifth anniversary of his End of Watch, Friday, July 23, 2021.

The Officer Down Memorial Page records that Sergeant Brown died in the line of duty while conducting surveillance during an investigation in Vancouver, Washington. This anniversary remembrance leaves out graphic detail and focuses on his service, sacrifice and continuing legacy.

A 15-year legacy across Clark County

A Clark County Sheriff's Office memorial announcement says Brown's 15 years with the agency included service as a corrections deputy, patrol deputy, school resource officer and narcotics detective. The office said he was first in line for promotion to sergeant at the time of his death and was awarded that rank posthumously.

ODMP lists Brown as 46 years old, badge 4383 and a 15-year Clark County Sheriff's Office veteran assigned to the Clark-Vancouver Drug Task Force. Its memorial record also notes earlier public service with the Washington State Department of Corrections and the Missoula County Sheriff's Office, along with his service as a United States Marine Corps veteran.

ODMP records that Brown was survived by his wife and five children. ThinBlueNews includes that public fact only to recognize the family that has carried the loss; this remembrance does not intrude further into private family details.

Five years later, still remembered

This is an anniversary remembrance, offered with respect for Sergeant Brown's family, friends, fellow officers, fellow Marines, the Clark County Sheriff's Office and the Washington community he served.

Five years after his End of Watch, Jeremy Brown is remembered for a public-service career that reached from corrections and patrol to schools and investigations—and for the family, department and community that continue to carry his name.
