Emory announced a virtual vigil and community service tied to the anniversary and urged its community to honor his memory through service to others.
A permanent remembrance near the place he protected
FOX 5 Atlanta's anniversary report documented a private CDC memorial attended by Rose's family, law-enforcement officers, CDC employees and federal officials. The report says a marker now commemorates his service on the campus and that the roadway leading to the CDC has been renamed Officer David Rose Parkway.
DeKalb County Police Chief Greg Padrick told FOX 5 that Rose embodied honor, service and partnership. One year after his death, this remembrance is offered with respect for Officer Rose's family, friends, fellow officers and the wider community affected by the attack.
