The Navajo County Sheriff's Office said deputies received an Alert to Locate involving the infant and quickly located the suspect vehicle in the Winslow area. Deputies recovered the baby unharmed with assistance from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The sheriff's office said the newborn was transported to a nearby medical facility as a precaution and was awaiting reunification with his mother when the agency issued its public update.
ABC15 Arizona independently reported the safe recovery and said Surprise police described the investigation as ongoing. FOX 10 Phoenix reported that Surprise detectives worked through the night and coordinated with partner agencies before officers located the child.
