A deputy whose actions protected others
The Lake County Sheriff's Office memorial says Link was working an off-duty detail when he responded to a call for assistance. After deputies observed signs that people inside a home might need help, Link and other deputies entered to search for injured people. The agency says they were met with gunfire and credits Link's response with allowing other deputies to escape the home.
ODMP lists Link as 28 years old, badge 2836, with six years and six months of law-enforcement service. Its record says he served four and a half years with the Lake County Sheriff's Office after two years with the Polk County Sheriff's Office. He had also participated in the Lake County Sheriff's Office Explorer program as a teenager and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Service remembered across Florida
In an official August 8, 2024 memorandum, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis directed flags at the Lake County Courthouse and Clermont City Hall to fly at half-staff for Link's funeral. The memorandum remembered his bravery, valor and commitment to service.
Link's name and service remain part of the community's public memorial life. A May 2026 report from Lake & Sumter Style documented the annual Lake County fallen-officer ceremony, where family members and agency representatives placed roses at memorial wreaths. Link's wreath was among those honoring officers who died serving Lake County.
Two years later, still remembered
This is an anniversary remembrance offered with respect for Master Deputy Link's wife, parents, family, friends, fellow deputies and the communities he served. Public memorial records describe a life shaped by service from his youth as an Explorer through his military and law-enforcement careers.
Two years after his End of Watch, Master Deputy Bradley Link is remembered for a lifetime of service and for actions his agency says helped fellow deputies survive.
