ATLANTA — Atlanta Fire Rescue crews brought six adults to safety Saturday after fast-moving water stranded the group along the Chattahoochee River near East Palisades Trail, according to local reports.

Boats, drones and ground crews joined the operation
FOX 5 reported that firefighters initially responded to a call about several people stranded in the water. Responders located six adults on the riverbank beneath a bridge near East Palisades Trail.
Emergency teams deployed boats, drones and personnel on the ground to reach the group. The river's speed complicated the response, and one rescue team had to take a different route because of the current, the station reported.
The group had become stuck after losing their raft. Crews ultimately brought all six people out safely, and officials said no one was hurt.
A reminder that river conditions can change the plan
The response ended without reported injuries, but it required coordination across the water, air and riverbank. In the FOX 5 report, fire officials urged people on the river to remain aware of current speed because stronger flow can quickly complicate both an outing and the route rescuers must use.
