TAMPA, Florida — The Tampa Police Department is expanding enhanced DUI patrols across neighborhoods and popular entertainment districts for Halloween weekend, according to an October 30, 2026 announcement.
Where the additional patrols are planned
The department said the expansion would begin the evening of October 30. Additional officers will work in uniform and plainclothes, with an emphasis on impaired driving and deterring reckless behavior, police said.
The announcement follows an overnight start to enhanced patrols by the department's DUI Unit, including an underage-drinking operation in Downtown Tampa. The October 30 date identifies the announcement and planned expansion; this report does not assign a separate calendar date to the preceding overnight operation.
What residents can do
Police urged people making celebration plans to have a plan and celebrate responsibly. The department also asked people to report suspicious behavior promptly to law enforcement.
For emergencies, the release directs residents to call 911 or alert the nearest officer. For non-emergencies, it lists 813-231-6130.
This is a public-service report on the department's announced patrol plans and safety guidance, not a report of the expanded weekend patrols' results.
