AUBURN, Washington — Two Auburn police officers have been honored after officials said their rapid response during a January CPR call helped save a man’s life. Officers Mbaye and Hull received the Auburn Police Department’s Medal for Life Saving Recognition for their work on the case, according to a report by Auburn Examiner and an Auburn Police Department Facebook post. The local report said officers were dispatched at 9:12 a.m. on Jan. 16, 2026, to a 7-Eleven for a report of CPR in progress after a caller reported that a male was slumped over near the front of a vehicle and began CPR. According to Auburn Examiner, Valley Regional Fire Authority was also dispatched. The officers arrived in under a minute from the first officer being sent to the call. The report said one officer took over chest compressions while the other retrieved an automated external defibrillator from a patrol vehicle.
