Recent feature: This report revisits the October 24 rescue described in New Hampshire Fish and Game’s release dated Oct. 26, 2026. It is not an active missing-person alert.

Conservation officers and Lakes Region Search and Rescue volunteers assisted a hiker with an injured knee on the Pine Bend Brook Trail in Livermore, New Hampshire, according to the agency’s account. The group reached the trailhead shortly after 11 p.m.

From an overdue report to a call from the ridge

Fish and Game said it was notified shortly before 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 24 that an injured hiker was descending the trail alone. The hiker had been traveling a 20-mile loop and was initially reported overdue.

A call from a ridge near North Tripyramid Mountain placed the hiker about three miles from the trailhead. The hiker reported an injured knee and slow progress, the agency said. That account describes contact with the hiker before rescuers arrived, rather than an unresolved search for someone whose location remained unknown.

Officers and volunteers help with the descent

Fish and Game attributed the response to the location and time of day. A small group of conservation officers and Lakes Region Search and Rescue volunteers met the hiker 1.5 miles up the trail, stabilized the knee and helped with the return to the trailhead, according to the release.

The reported outcome is assistance back to the trailhead. The release does not establish a later medical outcome; this report makes no claim about hospitalization or recovery.

The release directs hikers to hikeSafe for safe hiking tips and an essential-gear list. It also encourages outdoor enthusiasts to purchase a Hike Safe card, which the agency says helps support its search-and-rescue activities.
