FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky State Police graduated 40 cadets from its training academy on Oct. 30, 2026, according to the agency. Cadet Class 107 completed 24 weeks of academic instruction and practical training, and KSP listed assignments to posts across the commonwealth.
The agency's release published October 30, 2026, lists each graduate and assigned post, giving residents a way to see where members of the class are headed.
More than 1,000 hours of study
KSP said the class reported to the academy on May 17 and completed more than 1,000 hours of classroom and field study. Subjects included constitutional law, juvenile and traffic law, first aid, evidence collection, search and seizure, crash investigation and radio procedures.
The assignments listed by KSP include Madisonville, Bowling Green, Elizabethtown, Richmond, Columbia and Henderson, among other posts. The release identifies assigned posts but does not give a date for graduates to begin independent patrol.
College credit alongside academy training
Thirteen cadets also earned associate degrees in General Occupational and Technical Studies from Bluegrass Community and Technical College during their academy training, KSP said.
The agency said those cadets benefited from hiring guidelines established by the state legislature in 2017. Its release describes a pathway for applicants with a high school diploma or GED and three years of full-time work experience to apply as troopers and earn an associate degree during training.
KSP says its next cadet class will enter the academy in May 2027. Prospective applicants can use the recruitment link in the agency's release to check application information directly with KSP.
