PLANT CITY, Florida — Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputies began CPR and used an AED after an elderly woman became unconscious and stopped breathing at the Plant City Courthouse, according to an official Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office public-release video.
In the release, HCSO said the medical emergency happened on Nov. 4, 2021. Deputies Groons and Brown are shown springing into action and beginning lifesaving measures while other responders moved through the courthouse area.
The sheriff’s office said deputies deployed the AED and continued CPR for several minutes until Plant City Fire Rescue arrived. HCSO said the woman was later taken to a local hospital and, at the time of the release, was home resting and recovering.
Why the first minutes mattered
The video is an older evergreen public-safety release, but it remains a clear example of courthouse deputies carrying lifesaving training into a medical emergency before fire-rescue crews could take over. ThinBlueNews is keeping the patient’s identity out of the story and limiting medical details to the sheriff’s public statement.
For Support Law Enforcement readers, the Plant City courthouse save is a reminder that the AED on the wall and the deputy trained to use it can be the difference in the first few minutes of a crisis.

Editorial note: ThinBlueNews used an HCSO public-release bodycam still. The patient’s face is blurred in the source video, no fake rescue imagery was created, and this article does not add medical claims beyond the sheriff’s office release.
