MILFORD, Connecticut — Police officers broke a car window and rescued two people from a vehicle that was filling with water during severe weather, according to local reports and newly released body-camera video.
News 12 Connecticut reported that officers broke the driver's-side window, then unlocked the passenger-side door so both occupants could get out safely. The body-camera timestamp places the recorded rescue on July 21.

Officers reach a car trapped beneath an overpass
The published footage shows a light-colored vehicle stopped beneath an overpass while water covers the roadway. Officers move along the car, make an opening on the driver's side and work at the passenger side as the occupants are brought out.
WFSB reported that the vehicle became stuck and began filling with water during the storm. The publicly available reports reviewed by ThinBlueNews did not identify the two occupants or describe any injuries; News 12 said both were removed safely.
A timely warning about flooded roads
News 12 said Milford police released the footage while reminding the public about storm safety ahead of more potentially dangerous weather. The department's message included a basic but important warning: do not drive through floodwater.
Flood depth and road damage can be difficult to judge from inside a vehicle. In this incident, the officers' rapid access to the car and coordinated work at both doors helped turn a dangerous floodwater emergency into a safe outcome for two people.
