The Mammoth Lakes Police Department is reminding residents and visitors that no parking is allowed along Town streets from November 1 through April 30 unless otherwise noted, according to the Town of Mammoth Lakes' October 30 newsletter.

Dated recent feature: The reminder appeared in the town newsletter dated OCTOBER 30, 2026. That is the announcement date used in this report, not the date of a new enforcement action.

The seasonal rule and its qualifier

The notice says the restriction begins November 1 and runs through April 30. It includes the qualifier “unless otherwise noted.” Drivers should not treat every curbside location as interchangeable: the town's own reminder preserves exceptions rather than announcing an exception-free ban.

Citations and towing are possible

According to the notice, vehicles parked in violation are subject to a parking citation. In some cases, they may be towed and impounded at the owner's expense. The reminder does not say every violation will result in a tow.

The Election Day exception was limited

The same newsletter described a Sierra Park Road street-parking exemption for voters on November 3. It expressly limited that exemption to Election Day; it was not an ongoing exception to the seasonal restrictions.
