The Hawaiʻi Police Department has announced a free Kona Bicycle Day for Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, with bicycle safety education and an obstacle course on Aliʻi Drive.
In a November 4, 2026 announcement, the department said its Kona Community Policing Section/HI-PAL is organizing the event in collaboration with PATH. The scheduled hours are 8 a.m. to noon, local Hawaiʻi time, between Likana Lane and Hualālai Road.
What riders need to know
The event is open to the public and welcomes participants of all ages. The obstacle course is designed to help participants practice safe riding skills, according to the department.
Helmets are required to participate. Organizers encourage attendees to bring their own bicycles, but bicycles will also be available for use during the event.
Waivers and event questions
For waiver forms, the department directs participants to Sergeant Wyattlane Nahale at [email protected]. Additional event information is available by emailing [email protected].
The schedule and participation details come from the department’s November 4 release. The announcement concerns a planned event, not a report that it has already taken place.
