The Boston Police Department has outlined parking restrictions for the November 7–8, 2026, weekend, covering Saturday’s Veterans Day parade and Sunday’s Boston Athletic Association Half Marathon and Hyde Park Road Race. One stretch of Pierpont Road is listed for restrictions on both days.

The department published its traffic advisory on 2026-11-06 (November 6). That is the advisory announcement date, not the date of the parade or races. The schedules below are the department’s announced plans, not confirmation that the events have occurred.

Saturday, November 7: downtown parade

Police say the Veterans Day “Salute to Service” parade is scheduled to begin at noon at Copley Square. Its route follows Boylston Street, turns left onto Tremont Street against the normal direction of traffic, then continues onto Cambridge Street to end at City Hall Plaza.

The advisory lists these Saturday parking restrictions:

  • Beacon Street: south side, on the Boston Common side, from Charles Street to Walnut Street.
  • Boylston Street: both sides, from Hereford Street to Tremont Street.
  • Tremont Street: both sides, from Boylston Street to Cambridge Street.
  • Cambridge Street: both sides, from Tremont Street to New Chardon Street.

Half marathon: a two-day restriction and Sunday streets

The Boston Athletic Association Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, November 8. For that event, police list parking restrictions on both Saturday and Sunday on both sides of Pierpont Road from Glen Lane to Playstead Road, in the angled parking area next to the playing field.

The advisory also lists these Sunday parking restrictions for the half marathon:

  • Boylston Street: south side, on the Copley Square side, from Dartmouth Street to Clarendon Street.
  • Circuit Drive: both sides, from Blue Hill Avenue to Morton Street.
  • Valley Gates / Pierpont Road area: both sides, from Circuit Drive to the White Stadium Entrance to the Zoo.
  • Pierpont Road: both sides, from Sigourney Street to Playstead Road.
  • Playstead Road: both sides, from Walnut Street Entrance to Pierpont Road.
  • Seaver Street: south side, on the Franklin Park side, from Walnut Avenue to Elm Hill Avenue.
  • Walnut Avenue: both sides, from School Street to Seaver Street.

Sunday, November 8: Hyde Park Road Race

According to the police advisory, the Thomas M. Menino YMCA’s Hyde Park Road Race is scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday, starting and ending at 11 Fairmount Avenue. Parking is restricted Sunday on both sides of Fairmount Avenue from River Street to Truman Parkway.

What the notice does not specify

The advisory identifies restricted parking segments but does not give exact start and end hours for the restrictions or a street-by-street road-closure timetable. Do not treat a listed parking restriction as a blanket, all-day road-closure notice. Consult the linked police advisory and posted parking signs when planning where to leave a vehicle.
