MIAMI, Fla. — An intense video clip, reported by NBC Miami, depicts a Miami Police officer firing his gun through the windshield of a moving BMW while holding onto the car’s hood. The situation unfolded, according to Miami Police, when the driver hit the officer with his car near the intersection of Biscayne Boulevard and 2nd Street. This action reportedly led the officer to discharge his firearm. The video, posted on Instagram by Billy Corben, captures the officer firing three shots into the BMW before the vehicle halts. The driver is seen exiting with raised hands, and a follow-up video shows him lying on the ground as another officer places him in handcuffs. Both the officer and the driver were taken to the hospital, though details regarding their injuries have not been made public. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has initiated an investigation, which is customary in cases involving police shootings. Miami Police have stated they will refrain from additional comments until the investigation is complete, but confirmed that both agencies are reviewing all available video footage.
